Integration of biostatistics and mathematical modelling to accelerate malaria elimination

This research program brings together advanced biostatistical research with mathematical modelling to assess antimalarial treatments and radical population interventions, as well as machine learning methods to identify markers of drug resistance, in order to accelerate malarial elimination efforts. The research program primarily focuses on malaria, but the methodological advances have widespread applicability to other infectious diseases. Access to individual patient data and dissemination of findings is via Professor Simpson’s role as senior methodology advisor to the Infectious Diseases Data Observatory.
